Bo Bissett is a freelance writer, SEO content and marketing specialist working for companies from Asia to the Americas.
Aside from the above introductory sentence, I refuse to write about myself in the third person.
I am a writer at heart. I shunned it for many years, looking for money instead. I finally learned, to be successful in life you need to do what makes you happy. Once you do that, the money will come. Passion shows, as does the hunt for money. The green, the shade of that ambiguous piece of paper, shows in your eyes and your heart.
That pursuit doesn’t interest me. Money doesn’t make me happy. Doing what I’m good at and doing things I enjoy makes me happy. Life isn’t about working. Life is about fulfilling dreams, visiting other cultures, expanding your knowledge, keeping fit, and helping others. If you do that, you live a complete life.
I’ve never been a conventional person. I hate normal societal rules of conduct, and I break them every chance I get. I don’t wear ties, and I refuse to stay in one place. I don’t want kids or a two story house with a picket fence. All of those scare the crap out of me. I am selfish to the point I do what I want, when I want to do it (within reason), but I’m always there to help out a friend or family member. I do what I say I’m going to do, and 99 percent of the time I get it done before I say I will. The other one percent of the time, it’s delivered on time. I’m never late and don’t respect people who are.
I’ve lived in the Czech Republic, Spain, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Mexico. I’ve been an English Teacher, Stock Trader, Dive Instructor, and I wrote during my stint in each of those occupations.
I rode my bike through Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand. I rode over and around Taiwan several times and in 2012 rode from Atlantic Beach, NC to San Diego, CA. There is nothing I can’t accomplish when I put my mind to it. Put a ten thousand foot mountain in front of me and I get giddy.
I’ve jumped out of airplanes and off the cliffs of mountains. In the past, I’ve often jumped too quickly. I bruised my ego and broke more than a few bones in the process. Learning isn’t always easy. Falling yields some of the best lessons in life. I’ve fallen many times.
Now, I write. I’m doing what I should have done from the beginning of my professional career. I write for PR Companies, Web Developers, Ad Agencies, and myself.
Passion leads to superior results when you succumb its power.
That’s Bo Bissett on a webpage. I wanted to add a photo of me in a nutshell, but I’m guessing that wouldn’t be appealing to most people.
