My fiirst full day in Sapphire, NC was wet and cold. I got in the car with my friend and went to work with here, my bike in the trunk of the car. It was cold and wet that afternoon as I rode back to her house. When she passed me and told me to get in the car, I had no objection. And then…….

Car Etiquette when you see Bicycle Riders
Over the past week I have traversed many different roads and in doing so my biggest adversary is the automobile. They can be a cyclist’s good friend or worst enemy. From compact cars to the big 18 wheel tractor trailer, each can play a part in making the road safer for all of us to travel on.
Day 7 on the Road
I woke up today feeling great. That lasted most of the afternoon. Hilarity did not ensue today, but a few interesting occurrences kept me bouncing back and and forth on the “I’m lucky/I’m Damned” see saw.

Getting Ready to Roll
I head out tomorrow. I have been waiting for this moment since I came up with the idea to undertake this mission over a month ago. I couldn’t be more excited. I’m a little nervous but in a good way. This morning I packed my bags. I’m ready to go. I only need to get on the bike tomorrow morning and start pumping the pedals.
